What Is PinSeekers Function?
PinSeeker technology by Bushnell is a proprietary innovation in which more easily recieves measurements from the flag. Before PinSeeker was released it would be difficult for a rangefinder without PinSeeker to recieve a distance measurement when aiming at the pin.
PinSeeker technology is integrated into all of the Bushnell golf range finders. With PinSeeker technology the target can be easily locked in with great accuracy, no guessing.
How to use PinSeeker
First of all there are 2-3 modes of operation. The automatic Scan mode, the PinSeeker mode, and the Slope mode with or without PinSeeker.
*Currently the Tour V2 and the Pro 1600 have Slope Editions but the Medalist and the new Hybrid do not.
After enabling the PinSeeker mode simply press and hold down the power button and aim at your target to acquire the distance measured. The viewfinder will then display the range measured.
How Does It Work?
PinSeeker technology is a direct line of sight laser based rangefinder.
When firing the Bushnell rangefinder multiple invisible infrared laser pulses are discharged toward the target at the speed of light and then ricochet back to the Bushnell rangefinder. The clock (microprocessor) then calculates the amount of time it takes to return to the Bushnell golf range finder.
What It Can Do For You
PinSeeker removes the background clutter and focuses in on the flag when targeting the pin.
When the circle has surrounded the PinSeeker indicator it has confirmed that multiple objects have been acquired but only the measurement to the flag is displayed on the viewfinder. The PinSeeker indicator is displayed as a small flagstick with a surrounding circle on the bottom left side of the viewfinder. By default the PinSeeker chooses the closer target which obviously would be the flag rather than the background brush.

The brand new Hybrid Laser / GPS Rangefinder is gaining popularity for the only rangefinder with a dual personality as a Laser combined with GPS rangefinder. Utilizing a 5X optics lens the maximum distance for the Hybrid is 1,000 yards / 914 meters with highly reflective targets. Regular non-reflective targets max out at 600 yards / 549 meters.

This is by far the furthest any golf range finder by any manufacturer has gone using a 7X optics lens. The maximum range of the Pro 1600 is 1,600 yards / 1,463 meters for highly reflective targets. While most other objects have a maximum range of 1,000 yards / 914 meters.
